Philip Vernon Hoffman, 84, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on August 10th, 2025.
Born on March 13th, 1941, Philip was the son of the late P. Reynold Hoffman and Vernon P. (McGinnes) Hoffman.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. Hoffman of Enola; a grandson, Beckett R. Zydorczyk of Enola; and a cousin, William Hoffman (Gretchen) of Carlisle.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents, his former in-laws, Harry E. (Genevieve) Donson, his aunts, Helen M. Heiges, Margaret McGinnes, and Frances Sheely, and his uncle, Leon McGinnes.
Philip graduated from Carlisle High School in the class of 1959. He attended Wesley College in Dover Delaware. He worked at P.R. Hoffman Machine Products as a machinist and production engineer. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, The Carlisle Club, The Elks, and the NRA. He was a former member of the Carlisle Fish and Game and Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Philip enjoyed wonderful memories of boating, duck and deer hunting with family and friends at his parents' Benoni Point Farm, Royal Oak, Maryland, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He loved to reminisce of hunting trips with his father and dear Carlisle friends George Boyer, Gary Long, Charlie Evans, and Chip Evans. He always enjoyed spending time with his friends, neighbors, family, and Parker, his granddog”. He was known for his love, helpfulness, and kind compassion for those in his life. Philip will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Nancy Hershey for her frequent visits and to George Boyer for his lifelong friendship.
Burial at Mount Zion Cemetery will be private and at the discretion of the family.
