Danny "DJ" Johnson

Benson, NC:  Danny Joseph "DJ" Johnson, age 17, of 2621 Zack's Mill Road died Monday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  Funeral services will be  2:00 PM Friday at Benson Grove Baptist Church in Benson.  Officiating will be Rev. Tom Wagoner and Youth Minister Brad Thompson.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. DJ was born on July 29, 1997 in Wilson County.  He was a rising senior at South Johnston High School and was a member of Benson Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are parents, Jimmy & Judy Johnson; half-brothers, Donnie Scott, Jr. of Wilson and Justin Kenan of Wilson; step brother, Anthony Johnson of Benson; paternal grandmother, Mavis Johnson of Benson; biological parents, Jamie Todd Johnson and Lisa Mayo; maternal grandparents, Al and Brenda Mayo of Lucama; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends at Benson Grove Baptist Church from 12:00noon to 1:30PM Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Danny Joseph "DJ" Johnson may be made to Benson Grove Baptist Church, 6966 Hwy 50 North, Benson, NC  27504.
