Danny Lee Miles Sr., 64, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 28, 2025. Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and love for his family will forever be remembered.
Danny was born on April 9, 1960, in Norfolk, VA to the late Roger Lee Miles and Frances Darlene Seconder, and was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary Lorenz. He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Santos Miles; his children, Danny L. Miles Jr., Joshua R. Miles, and Tiffany Miles; his stepsons, William Cage, Jacob Cage, and David Cage; his cherished siblings, Deborah Lynn Maher (Donald), Toni Petruso, Nancy Carrera, and Vickie Miles Eason; and his extended family Billy Lorenz, Richard Lorenz, Tom Lorenz, and Jennifer Lorenz. Danny is also survived by his stepfather, Bill Lorenz; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Danny was a man of many interests and hobbies. He had a passion for playing and coaching softball, and he was an active participant in the Southern Amusement Pool League. He also enjoyed playing ping-pong, poker, skating, and watching wrestling. Danny was a proud member of the Kempsville Christian Church, where he formed many lasting friendships.
Danny worked for the City of Norfolk for 31 years, taking pride in maintaining the city fleet and serving as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a man who knew the value of hard work and dedication.
Outside of his work and community involvement, Danny had simple pleasures that brought him joy. He was known for his love of Chef Boyardee pizza, always with a Pepsi in hand. His favorite snacks were Twinkies and Ding-Dongs-proof that Danny found joy in the little things in life.
Above all, Danny was a family man. He adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His generosity knew no bounds-he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His warmth, humor, and compassion touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to celebrate Danny's life will be held on April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Kempsville Christian Church, located at 5424 Parliament Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
Danny's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Danny.
