Danny Mullins Obituary

Danny Lee was born May 1, 1954 in Iaeger, a son of the late Sol and Mable Kennedy Mullins. He was a coal miner for over 20 years. Danny Lee had accepted the Lord into his heart; he enjoyed fishing, reading books and watching cartoons; in his earlier days he enjoyed chicken fighting.
In addition to his parents, Sol and Mable Mullins, Danny Lee was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Walker and four brothers, Granville, George, Solomon Jr. and Glen Mullins.
Survivors include one son, Danny Ray (Alisha) Mullins of Iaeger, and one daughter, Misty Dawn (Norman) Hurley of Asheboro, NC. Danny Lee considered Alisha and Norman to be one of his own children and loved them as his own. Additional survivors include four sisters, Joyce McCoy of Beckley, Janet Dotson of Princeton, Joe Ann Anderson of Kershaw, SC, and June Rose of Bluff City, TN; one brother, Sam Mullins of Iaeger; seven granddaughters, Sonja Walker of Asheboro, NC, Allison Blankenship of Panther, Amber Baker of Star City, NC, Haley Hurley of Panther, Shelby Mullins of Iaeger, Emily "Sissy Bug" Bailey of Glen Rogers, WV, and Kate Mullins of Iaeger; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two special caregivers, his nephew and niece whom he loved dearly, Josh and Amy Mullins; his companion of 35 years, Sue Whitley and her son, Scott Lowe; and the mother of his children, Marlene "Marti" Powell.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2 o'clock, with Reverend Lacy Griffith officiating at the Horse Creek Church of the Living God near Iaeger, WV.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 12 o'clock until the time of service at the Horsecreek Church of the Living God.
In honoring the wishes of the deceased his body will be cremated following his services.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the family.
