Danny Rice Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Madison Funeral Services on Mar. 31, 2025.
Danny Dwayne Rice, age 62, of Weaverville, NC, left this earth to reside in his eternal home on Saturday, March 29, 2025 after a courageous 6-year battle with cancer.
Danny is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willard and Hattie Rigsby Rice and Author and Meda Hensley Honeycutt.
Danny leaves not only this life but all those who loved him the most. He is survived by his wife of 20 years who cherished him until the very end, Teresa Anglin Rice. Danny is also survived by his son, Trevor Rice (Rachel), loving parents Garland and Alda Honeycutt Rice and supportive sisters Cheryl Worley (Kenny) and Sheena Lisenbee (Ronald). Danny also leaves treasured nieces and nephews, Brittany McFee (Seth), Ashley Worley (Kenny), Leah Lisenbee, Caleb Lisenbee, Justin Cutshall, Hannah Cutshall, Jayla Wallin and Addy McFee.
Danny was a graduate of Madison High School and loved his trucking jobs as well as his position and co-workers with the NC DOT. His favorite things in life were family, friends, trucking, hunting, fishing and operating big equipment. He was the epitome of strength, friendship and loyalty and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The biggest comfort is to know his pain is gone and he is rejoicing in heaven with those he missed so much.
Special thanks go to the providers and staff of Messino Cancer Center, Mission Radiation and Madison County Hospice. Specifically, but not limited to Judy, Ann, Jessica, Nicole, Dr. Condra, Chi and Amy. All of you will hold a permanent place in our hearts.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home, Marshall, NC with the Reverend Dewayne Tweed officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery and the Pallbearers will be: Harley Metcalf, Jake Metcalf, David Rice, Justin Cutshall, Morris Lisenbee, and Roy J. Young.
