Daren Melton Obituary

Mr. Melton was born August 2, 1965, in Columbus, the son of Stanley R. and Norma J. Merrick Melton.
He married Patty A. Grider April 16, 2005.
Daren enjoyed carpentry work and was employed by Myers Construction.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Melton; children, Whitney (Oscar) Garcia-Martinez of Indianapolis, Joshua Niccum of Clifford, Amanda (Jacob) Lawson of Butlerville and Cody (Shelby) Melton of Taylorsville; nine grandchildren; siblings, Delores (Steve) Fletcher, Buck (Sheila) Melton, Bonnie (Fred) Perez, Pam (Tim) Caldwell, Doug (Sung-Hee) Melton, Sharon Melton and Joyce (Jerry) Giles and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Denneille Hiten; sisters, Shirley Browning, Brenda Pearson, Debbie Melton and Dorothy "Dot" Crain; brother, Mac Melton; sister-in-law, Libby Melton and a niece, Tausha Caldwell.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Rev. Ricky Burton officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Melton will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
