Darlene Kniprath, age 83, of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2025, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau surrounded by her loving family.
Darlene was born on October 6,1942, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Steven Kubacki and Muriel (Piekarski) Kubacki. Darlene graduated from Lincoln High School and worked various jobs throughout her life including Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Company, Nekoosa Credit Union, Wisconsin Rapids Chamber of Commerce, and Treasurer for the Town of Port Edwards. Above all, her favorite job was being a Grandma. During her retirement, she enjoyed spending her time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Darlene married Henry Kniprath on September 28,1968, and in 1970 they built the home where they would raise their two children Dan and Lisa. During her time here on earth she enjoyed nature and the outdoors, she loved flowers and spending time up north at Lake Namakagon. She enjoyed learning about history and politics. Darlene cherished holidays and our family traditions. Christmas was her favorite time of year, she loved the snow, Christmas lights, and she loved to bake. More than anything, she loved having all of her family together. Darlene was a selfless woman, always ensuring to care for others before herself. She loved with her whole heart and enjoyed helping others.
Those Darlene leaves behind to forever cherish her memory include her husband, Henry; brother, Steven Kubacki; children, Daniel (Patti) Kniprath and Lisa (Ken) Kreie; grandchildren Bobbie Jo (Dekotah) Aron, Brittney (Morgan) Kelly, Haley (Jon) Kniprath, Parker and Cassie Kreie; her soon-to-be nine great-grandchildren and numerous extended family. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Steven Kubacki and Muriel (Piekarski) Kubacki/Fix; and sister-in-law Sandy Kubacki.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa, WI. Visitation will take place from 9:00am until the time of service.
We would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who kept her comfortable and our friends and family for supporting us through this difficult time.
