Daryl Gene Cox was born on December 2, 1933 and passed away on July 22, 2025 at Johanna Shores Presbyterian Homes at the age of 91. Preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Glennyce; son Darwin; brother-in-law Clifton Toenges; sister-in-law, Colleen Politz; parents, Leo & Mildred; and eight brothers and sisters: Leona (Chuck) Anderson; Luella (Floyd) Johnson; Beverly (Donovan/AJ) Wyatt; Duane "Bud" (Janice) Cox; Marvin (Laurabell) Cox; Melvin (Marilyn) Cox; Marlene (Bob) Strampe and Keith Cox. Daryl was born prematurely on the farm in Alpha Minnesota, the 7th of nine children. He grew up with three brothers around the same age and had hilarious adventures. Daryl loved to relive the crazy things they did as kids when the family was all together. After serving in the United States Army, following the Korean conflict, he became a Refrigeration Engineer, designing cooling systems for indoor ice arenas. His work took him around the world (although he never liked to skate). Daryl sold ice in Alaska and sand in Saudi Arabia. He built systems in Siberia, China and Australia. He lived and raised his family for over 40 years in St. Anthony Park. In his later years, he enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona. Daryl loved going for breakfast with the guys wherever he was. Survived by daughters Darlette (Dan) Luke; Danielle (Patrick) Steffen; 3 Grandchildren Christina (Steve) Gerlach; Donovan Steffen; Zachary Steffen (Emily Pogue) and 2 Great Grandsons Carson & Cole Gerlach. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Companion Jennifer Benson. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donors choice.
