Dave Kline, 81, of Colorado, passed away, May 16, 2025 in the Denver Swedish Medical Hospital.
Dave was born to Bruce and Dorothy (Heuer) Kline on November 16, 1943 in Gothenburg, NE.
Dave attended Gothenburg High School, graduating with the class of 1963.After graduation he worked at Gothenburg Motors as a parts man. On August 13, 1966 he married Jeanine Keiser in Gothenburg, NE; and they moved together to Omaha where Jeanine completed her studies at Clarkson Hospital for her RN degree. Dave worked at a car dealership there as a parts man.
He joined the Army reserves and served as a cook with the 1013th Quartermaster Corp in North Platte from the late 60's into the early 70's. After Jeanine completed her degree they moved back to Gothenburg where he worked again for Gothenburg Motors until it sold in 1968. Along with the rest of the family, Dave worked to help build Pony Express Mobil and Kline's Carousel Campground. After a few years, Dave moved on to work for Glen Hyde at Gothenburg Nurseries, eventually buying the business and moving it in to Gothenburg. After selling the nursery business, he spent several years working for several other area businesses, eventually working for and retiring form Brown Medical Equipment Services at 70.
Dave was an avid hunter and wood carver. He served 33 years with the GVFD, holding the position of President for several years.
Dave is survived by his sons, Mitch (Elsa) Kline of Castle Rock, Co; Jason (Megan) Kline of Littleton, CO; Chris (Amanda) Kline of Elm Creek, NE; grandchildren, Cadence, Bella, Camden and Ruby Kline, brother, Kent (Marian)) Kline of Gothenburg, NE; sister, Kandace (Brad) Speer, of Covington, VA; sister-in-law, Patty Kline of Manhattan, KS; and many nephews and nieces.
Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanine, parents Bruce and Dorothy, and his brother Mark.
Celebration of Life for both Dave and Jeanine will be held this summer.
