David P. Aberg, 87, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Baptist Health Louisville.
He was born May 26, 1937, in Cleveland, OH one of four children to Donlan and Grace Aberg. His siblings, Donlan, Jr., Elizabeth Fortney and Patricia Aberg preceded him in death.
David was a graduate of the University of Louisville where he received a bachelor's degree in sociology and was a counselor for the Kentucky Department of Health and Family Services. David was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid runner, a competitive tennis player, and an expert Scrabble player.
David is survived by his children, Robin Aberg, Byron Aberg, and Tammy Johnson (James); grandchildren, Kyle and Jennifer Hall; and Christopher Wingo (Laura). He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Awni, Aliyanna, Dominic, Emmett and Delaney.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Road with burial to follow at Floydsburg Cemetery (Duncan Memorial), Crestwood, KY. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.
Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc, 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W., Suite 205, Lilburn, GA 30047 or by visiting www.lbda.org or a contribution to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews was entrusted with arrangements.
