David was born on December 28th, 1954 and passed away on
March 30th, 2025 at the age of 70David Allen Babcock, born on December 28, 1954, in Hardinsburg, IN, was a man of humble beginnings who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. David was a beacon of love, strength, and dedication, always putting his family first. His love for his family was reciprocated abundantly, especially by his grandchildren, who were the apples of his eye. The bonds he forged, the lives he touched, and the memories he created are a testament to the extraordinary man he was.
David was a man of many passions. He found joy in the tranquility of his garden, nurturing each plant with care and love. His love for wood and woodworking was evident in his career at Child Craft, where he showcased his commitment as a laborer. Even in his retirement, his dedication never waned. He was a die-hard fan of the University of Kentucky (UK), his love for the team only matched by his adoration for his little dog, Buddy. David's life was characterized by love, hard work, and sincerity, leading him to raise his stepchildren as his own. He made Corydon, Indiana his home after moving from Hardinsburg, where he spent 38 blissful years of marriage with his wife.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Katherine Babcock, and his brothers Gary, Donald, and infant brother, Carl Babcock.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rebecca Babcock, and his children, Mark Babcock, stepchildren Julie Hopper, and Matthew Mitchell, and 8 grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, James (Rita) Babcock, Randall (Sharon) Babcock, Philip Babcock, and Linda Martin, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family & friends. They, along with the rest of the family and friends, will miss David's love, guidance, and spirit.
Per David's request, cremation was chosen and all services are private.
Gehlbach & Royse was in charge of arrangements.
We invite everyone to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page, allowing us to remember David as the loving, dedicated, and remarkable man he was.
