David William Baxter, born on May 26, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Grosse Ile, Michigan, on August 21, 2025, at the age of 90.
David was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent much of his career as a truck driver, navigating the roads with skill and determination. Beyond his professional life, he was a man of many passions. David was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and boating, often sharing these pursuits with family and friends. His love for cycling kept him active throughout his life, while his interest in black powder shooting was an enduring hobby that he cherished.
A proud veteran, David served in the Naval Reserves for eight years, embodying the values of duty and commitment both in service and in his personal life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Paul and Viola Baxter. David is survived by his devoted wife, Jean, and their children: Michael (Kimberly), Donald (Kimberly), and Cherie (Dennis). His legacy continues through his nine loving grandchildren and fifteen cherished great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Janice (Richard) Habarth.
David's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the moments shared with him.
