David G. Bowen, 79, of Moosup, Connecticut transitioned on April 14, 2024, at Davis Place Nursing Facility in Danielson, Connecticut. Born in Barbados to Sandy Brooms and Sylvia Bowen he was one of four siblings. He attended and graduated from The Nazarene Training College in Trinidad, West Indies (Class of '67) completing his four-year ministerial training. Then entered the ministry in the Nazarene Church where he was ordained and pastored in Barbados. His service in the Lord brought him to the United States in the early 70's where he resided in New York for a year with family then moved to Connecticut to pastor the Blue Hills Avenue Church of Nazarene. He believed greatly in the value of a good education. He earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Capital Community Technical College in 1997 and then two other Bachelor of Science degrees: a Bachelor of Science from Charter Oak State College and one from Central Connecticut State University in Accounting. He continued laboring in the Kingdom serving the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church for many years as well as the Methodist Church. He loved gardening, cooking, and gospel music, especially the stylings of Andre Crouch and other gospel greats. He is survived by former wife, Edna of 32 years and their adored children Yvonne and Daniel. Survived by second former wife Janet of four years, two grandchildren Langston, Amira, two great-grandchildren Adrian and Lucy; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends in the US and aboard.
