David Burnham Jr.

Dave Burnham, 83, of Naples died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday January 28, 2010. He was born in Boston, MA on August 13, 1926 and was raised in Brookline, MA. He was a winter resident of Naples for 10 years and he summered in Humarock, MA.Dave served during WWII in the US Marine Corp 1st division as a tank commander. He was the owner of the Norwood Nursery Garden center in Norwood, MA for 26 years. In his earlier years, Dave owned Burnham & Sons Oil Company in Brookline, MA. During his retirement he enjoyed gardening, the ocean, walking and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Dorothy Burnham and sons David R. (Laurie) Burnham 3rd of Milford, NH, and Richard T. (Martha) Burnham of Gloucester, MA and Grandsons Randy, Jack and Scott. Dave was preceded in death by sisters Louise Bardsley of Walpole, MA and Janet Taylor of N. Hampton, NH. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at the Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East Naples, FL on February 1, 2010 at 1:00PM.
