David Lee Butikofer

David Lee Butikofer, 69 of Elgin, Iowa passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. David was born January 14, 1955 to John and Donna (Bergan) Butikofer in Postville, Iowa. He graduated from Valley High School in 1973 and earned his Bachelors in Ag Business from Iowa State University.
Throughout the years, David farmed the family farm and owned and operated Butikofer Insurance LLC. He was a member of Elgin Lions Club and Elgin Lutheran Church. He also was the Treasurer and was on the church council at Elgin Lutheran Church. David enjoyed watching sports, playing golf and going to the sale barn.
David is survived by his three siblings, Rodney Butikofer of Elgin, Iowa, Trudy (Bill) Wessels of Fish Creek, Wisconsin and Terry Butikofer of Elgin, Iowa; niece, Kelsey (Scott) Erickson of Janesville, Wisconsin; nephew, Phillip (Morgan) Wessels of Des Moines, Iowa; niece, Katelyn (Matthew) Hageman of Oelwein, Iowa; great nieces, Clarice and Natalie Erickson. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Donna Butikofer; his sister-in-law, Sheryl Butikofer.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Elgin Lutheran Church in Elgin, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Elgin Lutheran Church in Elgin, Iowa.
