Patricia Kay Butikofer passed away on December 28, 2024, in Pleasantville, Iowa. No services are currently planned.
Patricia was born on October 1, 1953, in Leon, Iowa to Howard Jeffrey and Ethel Mae Hamrick. On October 2, 1976, she was united in marriage to Mark Edward Butikofer. She was a loving mother to four children. Patricia originally moved to Bradenton, Florida from Iowa, eventually relocating to Springfield, Missouri. It was there, she and Mark retired and called home. Her hard-fought battle with ALS relocated her back to Iowa to be closer to her children to receive care.
Patricia loved puzzles, reading, and watching movies. She also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and camping. Most of all, Patricia loved being surrounded by those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered as a hard worker who loved compassionately and never gave up on anything or anyone.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Mark Butikofer, children: Malasia (Richard Jr.) Ray of Indianola, Iowa, Chad (Melissa Davis) Sohn of Des Moines, Iowa, Ursula (Paul Hennessey) Duncan of Bradenton, Florida, and Olivia (Andrew Anson) Butikofer of Iowa, City, Iowa; grandchildren: Alysa (Collin) Moyle, Amber Ray, Ciarra Butikofer, Savanna Sohn, Shelbie Sohn, Derrick Klinghammer, Avery Anson, Autumn Hennessey, and Gillian Hennessey; great grandchildren: Miles Moyle, Winter Osorio, and Melody Purcell.
Patricia was preceded by her parents, and grandson, Johnathan Ray.
