David Allen Cahoon, 53, of Lenzburg, IL, born August 6, 1971, in Belleville, IL, passed away on Sunday July 13, 2025, at his residence. Mr. Cahoon was a welder. He was an avid New Orleans Saints football fan and cat lover.
He was preceded in death by grandparents – Thomas Berlinski, William Chrisman, and Gus Cahoon.
David is survived by his parents – Allen and Debra (Chrisman) Cahoon, three sons – Kiefer and Carter Cahoon and Cameron Gove, his dear companion – Renee Prochaska and her son Bobby Yencho, grandmothers – Delores Berlinski and Rosemary Cahoon, siblings – Daniel (Rachel) Cahoon, Tina (Chad) Smith, Tami (Denny) Bielke, Matthew (Leigh) Cahoon, Wendy (Kris) Recker and Ryan (Netta) Cahoon. David is also survived by his dear feline friends – Sugar, Bop and Marshmallow, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
No formal visitation or services will be held. But a celebration of David's life will be held at a later date.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
