David L. Diamond
December 28, 1941 – March 20, 2025
David Lawrence Diamond, age 83 of Monroe, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at home under hospice care.
Born December 28, 1941, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Virgil and Helen (Simyak) Diamond. David graduated from Brownsville High School in 1961. David proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1964. He served in the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged after three years in 1967.
David met and married the love of his life: Josephine Pugliesi on July 29, 1967, in Brownsville, PA. After their marriage they made their way to Michigan, where they raised a family of two daughters. Together they enjoyed traveling in their RV and camping. They also like to spend their time at flea markets or go to the Auction House to find treasures. They spent over 57 wonderful years together.
David made a living working at Ford Motor Company at the Woodhaven Stamping Plant. He was a Quality Inspector for 34 years before retiring in 2001. In his younger years, he enjoyed going hunting and fishing. In his free time, you would often find David in his barn, tinkering away on cars or woodworking. He liked to ride his tractor around, garden, cook or BBQ for his loved ones. David had a knack for remembering special occasions and enjoyed decorating for the holidays. He will be deeply missed and cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
Beloved husband of Josephine Diamond. Loving father of Lorraine (John Gorrell) Diamond and Marjorie (Jerry) Thomas. Dearest grandfather of Andrew Diamond, Kelsey (Christian) Remington, Jacy, Joshua, and Jessica Thomas. Great grandfather of Winter Remington. Dear brother of Caroline (Ron) Fecek, Andrew Diamond, Roger (Malou) Diamond, and Helen (John) Buchko.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by brother: Virgil Diamond.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
