David Gentry Obituary
David “Dave” Edward Gentry was born on March 21, 1957, and he passed on September 23, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Dovie Gentry of Gastonia, grandparents, J.W. and Laura Gentry, son, Little Dave, brothers, Don, Joe, Carl, Charles, and sister, Rena Palmer.
Dave survived by his wife, Belinda of the home, four daughters, Jessica, Krisleigh Thompson (Mason), Cheyenne, and Phoenix, 1 granddaughter and grandson, Thorin Thompson, great granddaughter, Adeline, sister, Geraldine Spears (Robert), and six nieces and seven nephews.
He owned and ran the Hickory House BBQ on Little Rock Rd in Charlotte, North Carolina for many years serving celebrities that flew into Charlotte for concerts.
Dave was an avid motorcycle rider and loved going to spend time with his family in the mountains of North Carolina. He will be missed by his whole family, friends, and his precious pet (R.I.P). The family has peace because he is in the arms of Jesus, and he is with his mother and his son.
