Burnt Hills- David R. Grant, 68, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 19, 2024, after a short illness. Born on November 09, 1956, he was the son of the late Herbert and Phyllis Grant.
After completing his education at Linton High School, David attended SUNY Cobleskill where he began learning the skills to start his career in information technology. David's professional life was marked by dedication and excellence. David was most recently employed as an Information Technology Specialist with New York State and truly enjoyed his job and the connections he made.
In 1978, David married the love of his life Katrina (Cook) Grant. Together they settled in Burnt Hills, NY and built a life filled with love, devotion, admiration, and appreciation. Through their marriage of 46 years, they experienced highs and lows but always remained dedicated to each other and provided the best example of love for their children.
David was a devoted father to his girls Jennifer and Danielle always providing love, encouragement, and guidance. David was the first to volunteer to chaperone for any school trip he could and could be found supporting his girls at all their various activities. David was the ultimate girl dad and never complained once about playing barbies, listening to boy bands, or going on shopping trips that would last for hours. David found new joy when he became a grandpa and continued to share his love with four amazing little boys.
Music was one of David's greatest passions. At age 15, David discovered his love for the bass guitar and spent countless hours teaching himself how to play and perfecting his craft. He played in various local bands most recently with T.S. Ensemble. David's favorite band was The Beatles, and he would often be found singing and playing their music. David shared his love of music with his daughters and proudly attended concerts and lessons for years and taught them to love all genres of music. David used music to create special memories with his family and friends that will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife, Katrina Grant; cherished children, Jennifer (Russell) Walker and Danielle (John) Coffey; adored grandchildren Camden and TJ Walker and David and Nicholas Coffey; his sister Patricia Baker; his brother Bob (Becky) Grant. He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Phyllis Grant, his mother-in-law Betty Cook, his sister Margaret Hume, and his brother Charles Grant.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Saratoga Hospital for the exceptional care David received during his treatment through his passing.
Calling hours for David will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear bout Dave's passing. He was a gem. We worked near each other at DOT and he was always kind and helpful and quick with a positive sense of humor. He definitely loved his family because he talked about them often. He was also so full of wonderful advice. He will be missed.
