Mr. David Arthur Green, age 75, passed away early Thursday morning, October 16, 2025, at the Bradford Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Burlington, PA.
Dave was born on August 23, 1950, at the Mills Hospital in Towanda, PA, as the third child to Everett E. Green and Dorothy Marguerite Chilson Green. He spent his childhood with his six siblings on the family farm in Neath, PA and graduated from Northeast Bradford High School in 1968. He often would tell fond stories of the wide array of work to be done on the farm, from the dairy cows, to the thousands of chickens, and many taps to make maple syrup.
While on the farm, Dave followed in the footsteps of his father, Everett, and began driving school bus for the Northeast Bradford School District. Eventually, he purchased his own bus and became a contractor for the Wyalusing School District for over 42 years. Dave also was employed in 1994 by the Sheraton Bus Company where he drove coach bus for over 20 years and 1,500,000 miles. He was a highly requested driver by many organizations due to his love of telling jokes and stories that entertained his passengers. He loved the opportunity to drive coach bus and travel the country.
Beyond his primary career in driving bus, Dave also spent many years working other jobs. Those included working for Giffins Construction, American Breeders Services, Sivers Equipment Co, the Wyalusing Sale Barn, as well as owning his own small tractor repair company, Green's Tractor Repair.
Dave was widely known in the area for his love of music and performing. In his early years, Dave's family performed together around the region under the direction of his mother, Dorothy, as the Green Family Singers. In high school, he was part of the school choir, singing in county and district chorus, as well as singing in the State FFA chorus at Penn State University for four consecutive years. Additionally, he was selected to sing with the chorus at the National FFA Convention in Kansas City for Vice President Herbert Humphrey.
As an adult, Dave continued his love of music with many community organizations. He performed with the LeRaysville Minstrel, the Wyalusing Community Theater, and the Keystone Theater. Dave's 30 years with the Wyalusing Swing Choir and his performances as Elvis were some of his most memorable.
Dave also was involved with many other organizations, like the Irem Temple Shriners, with whom he would perform in parades across the east coast. He was also a proud member of the Scottish Rite and Roman LeRay Franklin Masonic Lodge #418 for 49 years, serving as Worshipful Master.
After retirement, Dave and his wife, Irma, spent most of their final years enjoying the weather in Wesley Chapel, FL. Dave loved their dog, Dixie, and tinkering on tractors in his spare time. After Irma's passing in 2024, Dave returned to PA to be near family.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Everett E. Green (May 2000); his mother, Dorothy Green (March 1994); his wife, Irma Lee Green (June 2024); his sister, Lois Neuber (February 2023); his brothers/sister-in-law, Charles Neuber (January 2013), Paul Cresho (March 2015), Shirley (November 2024) and Clifford Woodruff (December 2021), and Stephen Otis (November 2017); and great-grandson, John Yoder, III (February 2013).
