David LeRoy Henderson, 71, passed away peacefully at home in Harvard on October 12, 2025, surrounded by family.
David was born on February 7, 1954, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, to the late Nancy Day Henderson and Leroy Henderson. He grew up in Wheeling, WV; Cold Spring Harbor, NY; and Concord, MA, where he graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School. He earned a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
He met his wife, Mary, at their five-year high school reunion. They raised two children, Kyle and Kelsey, first in Maynard before settling in Harvard in 1992. Family was always at the center of David's life.
After college, David's love of music led him into a career in professional audio and visual equipment sales. In 1991, he struck out on his own, founding the D.L. Henderson Company, an award-winning independent sales firm. He sold the business to his devoted colleagues in 2022 but continued to support it with dedication until his passing.
Music remained David's lifelong passion. He began drumming as a teenager and played with several progressive rock groups around Boston after college. Though his professional and family life soon took center stage, music stayed a constant thread - he continued performing with local musicians on evenings and weekends. Even when he wasn't behind the kit, David was, quite literally, always keeping a beat.
In winter, David was an enthusiastic skier and snowboarder. With family roots in Stowe, VT, he proudly called it his home mountain, and Nosedive was always his favorite run. In summer, he cherished days at the beach on Cape Cod. Year-round, he loved traveling with family, visiting places as far-ranging as New Zealand, Japan, Syria, Kenya, Peru, and Italy.
At home in Harvard, David coached his children's soccer teams before launching his own athletic career, eventually managing and competing with the town's Over-68 team. In later years, he was often found kayaking on Bare Hill Pond, playing pickleball, cheering for the Patriots as a season-ticket holder, and volunteering in the community.
David's sharp wit and sense of humor made him unforgettable, even if it occasionally got him into trouble. He was generous with his time and kindness, always ready to help and quick to find good in any situation. He was a true friend to many, and his wide circle reflected the warmth and loyalty he shared with others.
David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Morazzi-Henderson of Harvard; his son, Kyle Henderson of Paris, France; his daughter, Kelsey Henderson, and her wife, Justine Henderson, of Somerville; his brothers and their families, Andy Henderson of Cypress, TX, and Scott Henderson of Juno Beach, FL; and his cousin and her family, Carolyn Windham of Warren, RI. He also leaves behind many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, and close friends who enriched his life and will miss him deeply.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord, MA on Monday, October 20th from 10 am to 12 pm, immediately followed by a graveside service in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord.

So sorry for your loss, David was quite a character. My path intersected with his from time to time when I owned a recording studio, and he was always full of life and great stories.

I wish to give our deepest condolences to David's Family and colleagues at The Henderson Company.

David and I started in business very close to the same time and was one of the very best. He always was happy, with a razor sharp wit and a pleasure to talk shop.

We lost a great one far too early and our very best to Mary and your children.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to both Dave's personal and work families.
Dave was one of the first Sales Reps I remember meeting after joining Applied Audio in the late 90's. My experience matches so many others in finding him of quick wit and sincere personality. Although ours was a professional relationship, he always treated me with the respect of a longtime friend. I am incredibly grateful to have had the chance to reconnect with him at the Infocomm Show in Orlando this past June. He will be missed.

We lost a great one. I was lucky to work alongside Dave in AV for 20+ years. We bonded over our shared passions for music and technology, and his enthusiasm was contagious. Everyone at DGI will miss him dearly. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to Mary, the family and his extended family at DLHenderson.

David Henderson has been my "go-to" since 1979. He was always on the cutting edge, doing HUGE favors for now well known companies, such as TCElectronic®, Genelec®, QSC®, Midas®, LEA®,Tannoy® and more.

I am privileged to consider him a good friend, and his frequent visits to he and Mary's "Northern Home" in Stowe, Vermont, brought him close by for pleasant evenings discussing what body parts he had damaged by careening down Mount Mansfield that day.

His presence goes on, but his weekly communications will be sorely missed.

Our best to Mary and the Family.
