David George Holcomb, 78, of Marstons Mills, MA and Naples, FL passed away with his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy, by his side during the early hours of October 15th thinking only of others until the very end.
David was born in New Britain, CT as the youngest of four children. He joined the U.S. Air Force after high school to proudly serve his country. He met his wife Nancy (Sousa) of Osterville while stationed at Otis Air National Guard Base, after serving in Vietnam as an aviation mechanic. David and Nancy settled in Marstons Mills where they spent their life raising a family and starting a plumbing company, until retiring and relocating to Naples, FL for the winters.
David enjoyed golfing with his wife and friends at Cummaquid Golf Course in the summer and Foxfire Golf Course in the winter for the last 20 years, where anyone who knew him heard the stories and updates about his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife Nancy, son Chris (and his wife Cathy), son Michael (and his wife Jen), six grandchildren Victoria (and husband Andrew), Rachael (and husband Conor), Christopher (and wife Kayleigh), Amber, Julia and Dylan. He was fondly known as GGpa to four great grandchildren Liam, Cove, Avett and Sy.
David will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery at 12:45 PM on Friday November 1, 2024 followed by a celebration of life at the Sagamore Inn.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Heroes In Transition, 22 Bates Rd, Mashpee, MA 02649.
