Hugo, OK- David Thomas Jones was born Tuesday, December 13th, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Benjamin Edward Jones and Minnie Loretta (Westbrook) Jones. He passed from this life on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023 in Denison, Texas at the age of 73.
David attended Irving High School. David served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1970. He worked as a heavy equipment loader operator in demolishing buildings. In January of this year, David moved in with his daughter Patricia after his health began declining. He enjoyed playing cards, Dominos, fishing, and spending time with family.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Minnie Jones; sisters, Mary Jones and Brenda Jones; brother, Richard Jones; and son-in-law, Ben Higa.
He is survived by his son, David Jones and his wife, Shelly of Flower Mound, Texas; daughters, Pamela Higa of Soper, Oklahoma, and Patricia Campbell and her husband, Keith of Hugo, Oklahoma; brothers, Ben Jones of Connerville, Oklahoma, and Kenneth Jones and his wife, Sandie of Roane, Texas; sister, Loretta Pittman of Kerens, Texas; beloved former wife of 11 years, Karen Taylor of Soper, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 30th, at Brown's Funeral Home chapel in Durant with Bro. Don Fentem officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 29th, at Brown's Funeral Home.
