David M. King, 49 passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 30, 2025, after a long battle with a brain tumor. He was born April 27, 1975, in Marysville, Ohio to John H. King and the late Ruth (Smith) King.
He was married to his wife, Melissa (Pinney) King for 27 years. They had two children Caleb (Dakota) King and Sarah King. He was a proud grandfather to two grandsons, Karson and Spencer King. He loved to show everyone pictures and videos of Karson and Spencer.
David was a sports enthusiast and made a friendly competition of about anything. He played various sports when he was young but found his love in football and baseball. After high school he played baseball at Potomac State for a year. When he came home, he joined a softball team that took him to various tournaments and several states. David loved sports. He was a fan of The Ohio State University and the San Francisco 49ers. He often called plays and officiated games from the comfort of his home.
Dave was an avid hunter and loved fishing. He spent many weekends and vacations fishing. During the hunting season you would find him on Bear Hollow Rd. He loved spending time in his tree stand. He felt the closest to God and had the best conversations 20 feet off the ground. David took pride in bringing home meat for his family and friends.
During this recent reoccurrence, David purposely sought out a relationship with the Lord. His goal was to bring and be a light to others while battling cancer. He wanted others to see that God is good even in our darkest moments. He left this earth with confidence that he was making heaven his home.
David's siblings are a brother John (Gayle) Simpson, sister Tonya (Gregg) Spires and sister Tracy (Tony) Blumenschein. He has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He also enjoyed spending time with his life-long friend, Rex Kelley.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 5-6pm at the Rock Church, 1003 N. Maple St., Marysville, where Pastor Tom Powers will officiate. Following the service, the family will receive friends in The Rock Church Gymnasium, where a time of fellowship and sharing stories of David's life will be held.
