David V. Krol

David V. Krol, age 86, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1989, passed away April 14, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1938 in Chicago, IL.
Dave is survived by his loving children, Jennifer (John) Burke of Oswego and Cheryl (Peter) O'Connor of Romeoville; his grandchildren, Corey(Christine), Kayla(William Hayes), Katelyn (Seth Salmon) and Patrick; great-grandchildren, Carter, Cole, Winter, and William; his brothers, Dennis (Patricia) Krol and Vic Krol, Jr.; as well as many nieces and nephews and a lifetime of good friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Elaine Krol; his parents, Victor and Lillian Elizabeth (nee Novotny) Krol; his step-mother, Mary Krol; his brother Walt (Fran) Zeski and his sister Barbara (the late Tony) Shillim.
Dave grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1961-1964 and was an awarded sharpshooter. Dave dedicated his life to his faith and his church, St. Mary Immaculate Parish, Plainfield. He was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus Good Shepherd Council #5573 and volunteered countless hours to all of its events.
Dave loved the game of golf and enjoyed weekly rounds with friends. He and his beloved Elaine shared the same passion for the game and played together until her passing in 2011. After Elaine's death Dave enjoyed playing weekly with his brother, Dennis. Dave also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 4:00-8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23, 10:30 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
