Alice Kloc Obituary

Alice is survived by her niece, Janeen (Greg) Eischen and nephew Tom (Catrina) Sellers; great nieces and nephews, Gabrielle (Justin) O'Brien, Quintin (Hannah) Sellers, Alexandra Eischen (Nick Ursem), Dylan (Lauren) Sellers, and Reid (Stephanie) Sellers; and great, great nephew, Theodore Ursem. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Kloc (nee Palus), and sisters, Maryann Sellers and Margaret Meyer.
After graduating early from Harrison Technical High School, Alice went on to secretarial school, eventually landing a position at the University of Illinois working as a secretary for an entomologist. She later applied for a position with the FBI. After a full background check and a signed offer letter from J. Edgar Hoover himself, Alice packed up and headed to Washington D.C. Eventually Alice made her way back to Illinois and started working for the Department of Energy at Argonne National Laboratory, ultimately retiring from this position.
Alice enjoyed spending time traveling with or visiting family - from trips to Europe to visits with her sister, Margaret, in Sarasota/Siesta Key, FL to road trips with her sister, Maryann, to Black Hills, ND or the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH. She loved the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and saw both bands in concert. Alice loved to read about history (especially Abraham Lincoln), mysteries, and thrillers, and enjoyed being whisked away by her favorite TV shows like NCIS and MacGyver.
In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to make a lasting tribute in Alice's name, memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals www.aspca.org or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
Alice's family will be holding a private interment ceremony at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien, IL.
