David Michael Loose passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at the age of 69. He was the husband and best friend to Kimberly Loose (Grycon) for over 46 years. He is predeceased by his father, Joseph and mother, Patricia. He is survived by his brothers Joseph, Michael, and John. He is the loving father of Devon (partner to Cord), Erica, David Jr. (fiancé to Chanel), and Matt Arndt (husband to Chelsea, father to Colton, Hudson and Jackson). The greatest honor of David's life was being a grandfather, he was known affectionately as Pop-Pop to Emilia, Kaylee, and Josiah. He always enjoyed his time with the family fur-children, Annie, Warner, Marshall, Lily, and Charlie.
David was born in Reading on February 8, 1956. He graduated from Reading High School in 1974. He married his wife Kimberly in 1978, and they had a simple, beautiful life raising their family. During his life he was a jack of all trades; he held positions at Bachman's, Mary MacIntosh, Wetterau, and he started his own residential and commercial cleaning and courier business in 1990. David also enjoyed working on Sundays at Park Road Presbyterian Church for many years.
He was outgoing, and he could strike up a conversation with any stranger. He enjoyed sharing stories from his life, facts about sports, and his opinions about TV shows and movies. He made his family laugh with his silly facial expressions. He was the go-to person to help with math homework throughout the lives of his children and grandchildren. He loved watching baseball, and he was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. If you knew Dave, you were lucky enough to know his kind soul and friendliness. He will be forever missed by his loved ones.
A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading from 9:00am-11:00am. A private service for the family will follow.
