David Edward Lowery, son of Cleaman and Joyce May Palmer Lowery, was born in Grovespring, MO, on October 16, 1940, and left this life December 11, 2021, at his son and daughter-in-laws home in Grovespring, MO, surrounded by family and friends, at the age of eighty-one years.
David attended Mt. Olive country school. He worked very hard to provide for his family. He began work at the age of fifteen, driving wooden fence posts in the ground, on the back of a flat bed truck. He tells he was paid one dollar a day. He also worked in Kansas City, building Gleaner Combines. When returning to Lebanon, he was employed at Detroit Tool for the next twenty-five years, before retiring in 2002. After a very short time whittling on the porch, and deciding that was not for him, he began working at The Cackle Hatchery, traying eggs. For nearly fifteen years, he loved working for them, whenever they needed him.
Although he worked very hard, he did find time to enjoy word search puzzles and spending time with his son building fence. He especially enjoyed precious time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, telling them stories of his life and joking with them. He looked forward to road trips on back roads with his grandsons and visits from his granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
David is survived by three sons, Ronald Lowery and his wife Vickie of Grovespring, MO, Pete Baldwin and his wife Lesley of Marshfield, MO and Dave Lowery of the state of Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Lowery of Grovespring, MO, Caye Lowery and her fiancé` C. J. Woolsey of Lebanon, MO, Colby McClain of the state of Mississippi, Candace McClain of Lebanon, MO, and Amber, Kristen and Sydney Lowery of Lebanon, MO; nine great-grandchildren, Emma, Aiden, Ryleigh, Addie, Weston, Kristian, Wrynley, Katlyn and Kolton; by three sisters and two brothers; other relatives and dear friends.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, one brother and two sisters.
David was a wonderful father and fun-loving grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Celebration of Life service for David Lowery, will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Alfords Pub and Grill, in Lebanon, MO.
