David C. Marshall, 85, of New Berlin, WI passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2025.

Born in Milwaukee, WI, he was the son of the late Edward and Virginia (Jablonowski) Marshall. David graduated from South Division High School in 1958. He attended Marquette University, receiving a bachelors degree in chemistry in 1963. David served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War from 1963-1965.

He was retired from Quant Corporation, a chemical and metallurgical testing laboratory that he founded and ran for over 30 years. David was well known and respected for his chemistry expertise and has written numerous articles for scientific journals as well as doing consulting work for individuals and corporations around the world.

He enjoyed watching football (especially the Minnesota Vikings), tending to his lawn and garden, doing handyman projects around his home, watching classic movies and reading about military history. He loved jazz and big band music and was proud of his extensive album collection. He also had a soft spot for stray cats and would care for them whenever he encountered them.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Carol (Kegel) Marshall. They were not only partners in life, but also partners in business, as Mary was also the office manager at Quant Corporation for many years.

David was also preceded in death by his parents Edward and Virginia, his brothers John and Charles, an uncle Stanley Jablonowski, and an aunt Mary (Nick) Cinquemani.

David is survived by a daughter Leslie Marshall and her husband LaShawn Blanks of Brookfield, WI; a son Jeffrey and his wife Jessica (Charbonneau) Marshall of Ft. Myers, FL, sisters Judith (Dennis) Perl, Cynthia Michels, Deborah (Tom Fanning) Marshall, Robbie (Colin) Moore, as well as a brother Robert (Patricia) Marshall.

Also survived by grandchildren Sabriah and Malik Abdul-Wahid and Grayson Marshall as well as nephews Steven (Lisa) Perl and Kevin (Jordan King) Michels, and a cousin Celeste (Domonic) D'Acquisto.

A private family viewing was held.
