David N. Meagher, 87, of Lovell, Maine, passed away at the Andwell Hospice House in Auburn, Maine, on May 19, 2025, after a brief illness.
He was born to William and Ethel Meagher of West Haven, Conn., on Oct. 29, 1937. He was the youngest of six children. He treasured the memories of times spent with them and their families.
David started his career in the amusement machine business at the Savin Rock Penny Arcade in West Haven at the age of 14. He was very mechanical, and it was often said that he could fix anything! This experience led to a lifelong career as an amusement machine technician in New Jersey and later in Florida.
He continued in that field until retirement. During that time, David became a professional poker dealer in Daytona, Fla. He enjoyed talking with people and was a tremendous storyteller! In 2007, he relocated to Lovell, Maine, to reside with his daughter, Linda Candelora, and her husband Michael. He spent his last years enjoying times with his family.
He was predeceased by his siblings Helen Ford, William Meagher, Robert Meagher, Ethel Santangelo and Virginia Manchester. Also by his daughters Diane and Karen and his son David.
David is survived by his daughter, Linda Candelora and husband Michael as well as his grandchildren Jason Candelora and wife Lori, Chris Candelora and wife Kelsey, Ben Candelora, Lisa Myers and Andrew, Gregg Reeves Jr., Evan Hallet and Amanda Brett. He had eight great-grandchildren: Colby, Jasper, Olive, Maisie, Aiden, Lilly-Anne, Alexander and Charlotte, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A time of remembrance will be held from 5-8 p.m. on June 19, 2025, at the residence of Michael and Linda Candelora, 406 Foxboro Road, Lovell, Maine. Food will be served.
