Funeral services for Mr. David Bryan Meredith will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, with Reverend William Currie officiating. Interment will follow in Cryer Cemetery, Oakdale, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
David Meredith, 72, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior after a full and faithful life on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Born with a love for music and a heart for God, David devoted much of his life to leading others in worship. With guitar in hand and a voice lifted in praise, he served as a worship leader for many years, pointing others toward Christ through his songs and his example. His faith was the foundation of his life, guiding his every step.
David shared forty-nine beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathleen, who was his closest friend and steadfast partner. Their union was a testimony of enduring love, devotion, and faith in God. Together they raised a family rooted in love, laughter, and strong values; a legacy that will continue for generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudis and Zora Meredith; one brother, Paul Meredith; and one sister, Deborah Hanvy.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-nine years, Kathleen Meredith of Oberlin; one son, Joel Meredith (Jessica) of Ragley; one daughter, Lisan O'Banion (Steve) of Basile; five granddaughters, Villy, McKenna, Evie, Daisy, and Claire; and one grandson, Charlie.
A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
