Funeral services for Mrs. Sybil Young Anding will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, with Reverend Don Duplechian officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Soileau, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Anding, 81, of Oberlin, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center, Lafayette, LA.
Sybil was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a hairdresser for many years and retired as a custodian from Oberlin High School. She enjoyed dancing and cooking, but most of all, Sybil loved her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her son, James "Timmy" Chaumont; and her parents, Rovelia and Gladys Young.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two daughters, Jody Tilley (Bryan) of Kinder, and Pam Chaumont of Oberlin; two granddaughters, Pyla Tilley of Eunice, and Chassie Tilley of Kinder; two grandsons, T-Joe Chaumont (Carly) of Kinder, and Cody Tilley of Kinder; eleven great grandchildren; and three sisters, Jane, Bobby (Sylvan), and Janice.
A time of visitation will be held in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: T-Joe Chaumont, Cody Tilley, Randy Manuel, Kyle Fontenot, Chris Hall, and Nicky Chaumont.
