David Ragsdale

David Alan Ragsdale, 72, Topeka, Kansas, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died from complications of lung cancer at his home on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Born February 14, 1952, in Topeka to Hilton and Donna Dailey Ragsdale, David was a 1970 graduate of Topeka High School. On October 16, 1976, David and Linda Marie Heere were united in marriage at Holy Name Church enjoying 47 years together.
For 35 years David worked at Jeffrey Energy Center, retiring in 2013.
He loved his family. His pleasures were simple. He enjoyed classic cars, especially his 1970 Mustang, reading science fiction, astronomy, margaritas, and playing Hand and Foot card game.
Grateful to have shared David's life were his wife, Linda; sons, John Ragsdale (Shandi) and Derek (Nimm); grandsons, William and Wyatt; his mother, Donna Ragsdale; siblings, Eve Williams, Pat Turner, Carol Ashwill (Bill) and Don Ragsdale; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. David's family will greet friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
Memorial contributions are suggested to DHX30 United Inc, 279 Creekside Lane, Pelham, Alabama 35124-3983 to assist in research of a rare genetic syndrome which affects David's grandsons.
