I worked with Dave Ross and his then-colleagues back in the early 90s, doing neuropsychological evaluations and psychotherapy. I always thought of Dave as the Mark Twain of neurology: literate, worldly, philosophical, yet down-to-earth, a dedicated diagnostician and healer who did not suffer fools gladly, but who was fiercely devoted to the care of his patients. We touched base a few times over the ensuing decades, usually around some clinical or forensic cases we were working on concurrently. In fact, I found out about Dave's illness from a WC patient I saw recently who couldn't stop telling me how much she appreciated his care and support - even from his hospital bed. It's been said that "a successful life is always an unfinished life," so if that's true, we all leave this plane with tasks accomplished and those left to do. Dave lives on in the patients he's helped, the students he's trained, and the colleagues he's inspired - including this one.

Dr Ross will be forever in our hearts. He changed our lives by helping our son get better and to believe in himself again, encouraged him to get back to normal life. Never before we met any doctor who would be so passionate about his patient and so understanding and helpful. Truly we felt he cared as for his own.
Our family is among many who is deeply hurt by his loss. He was one of a kind, more then a doctor, a great human.
Our thoughts and prayers with his wonderful family, who he always spoke about with love.
He ll be forever in our hearts.
Sincerely,
Afanasievs family.

It's still hard for us to accept that you left. It is difficult to find a professional with your ethics, knowledge, dedication and great human quality. I know that one day we will see you again in heaven. Condolences and strength to his family. Christina Blanco

That is a lovely picture of Dr. Ross. He was my daughter's neurologist from age 18 to 25. She has autism. We saw him first for an EEG before she had her wisdom teeth out. We saw him every 6 months after that through many of her transitions. Dr. Ross gave me his personal home number and composed letters to her program during COVID 19 to excuse her without penalty. He always listened to my concerns and was kind to my daughter and always supportive. I will miss his wisdom and support in her journey. He was one of the good guys.

Amy dear, I was so devastated to hear about David. I still can´t believe it. He was a force and an amazing human being, much like my Shelley. He was so creative and innovative in so many areas of life. He lived an extraordinary life and always talked about his family. He also had a servants heart, a rare attribute for a brilliant Doctor. He will be so missed by all who loved him. He is truly an irreplaceable human being. His spirit will be with you always. Please call me when you can, so we can talk. Sarah 954-249-2950
