David Alan Schillinger, 70, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Fri. July 19, 2024 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born Apr. 11, 1954, "the most boring day in history", in Granite City to the late Edward & Shirley R. (Klueter) Schillinger.
David was an electrician and worked for various places, eventually retiring from the St. Louis Country Club. He loved to do crossword puzzles, garden, make wine, shoot pool and spend time with friends at Lenny's.
He is survived by a daughter: Amy (Lora Johnson) Schillinger of Granite City; 3 sons: Adam (Lucia) Schillinger of Wildwood, MO, Alex (Jill) Schillinger of Granite City and Ed (Melanie Ancog) Schillinger of St. Louis, MO; 6 grandchildren: Maya, Myles, Matthias, Stella, Lennon and Cormac; 3 sisters: Patricia (Robert) Klaus of Encinitas, CA, Donna (Ron) Brasfield of Lee's Summit, MO and Eadie (Bob Ficor) Schillinger of Granite City; his former spouse and mother of his children: Kathy (Keith) Antoff of Warrenton, MO; and his beloved cat: Schnickelfritz.
A celebration of David's life will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 1063, 4801 Maryville Rd., Granite City, IL 62040.
