David Charles Simonsen, 76, of Cascade, WI, passed away at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee on Saturday, November 30th, 2024.
He was born on October 12, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late Alvin and Mary Simonsen.
David lived in Grafton, WI and graduated from Grafton High School in 1967. On July 11, 1986 he married Ann Wehausen at Calvery Lutheran Church in Thiensville, WI and started their lives together in Cascade, WI. Soon after they joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade, where he was an active member serving as an elder and on the Board of Stewardship, Cemetery Association, and Chili Man.
He worked at Orion Corporation in Grafton, as a machinist for over 40 years, he retired in 2009. David enjoyed Tae-Kwon-do, Trap shooting, camping, high power target shooting, deer hunting, and rummage sales (he loved bringing home a good deal)!! He also loved their many cats and their dear dog, Rocky. David was very outgoing and loved meeting new people.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; sons, Eric (Toni) Simonsen of Masa, AZ and Tom (Kim) Simonsen of West Bend; grandchildren, Dustin Simonsen (Tonya) of Neenah, Jordan Simonsen of Sheboygan, Aryanna Ebert (Jonathan) of Shawano, and Zack Simonsen of Green Bay; Great-grandchildren, Tyler and Aiyanah; brother, Robert Correll of IL; sisters, Lisa (Tom) DeByle of NH, Karen Simonsen Haessly of Grafton; brother-in-law, Karl Wehausen of Mequon; and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mary Simonsen and brother-in-law, Nathan Haessly.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade from 10:00AM-12:00PM; with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 PM. Rev. Richard Bidinger will officiate. Inurnment will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Cascade.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in David's name.
