David R. Strathern

David R. Strathern, age 74 of Trenton, NJ, passed away peacefully at Virtua Hospital in Marlton, NJ on Sunday, May 22, 2022
Born on September 9, 1947 in Bayonne, NJ, David was a lifelong resident of Trenton, NJ and retired to Brigantine, NJ. He earned his BA from Rutgers University and graduated from the New Jersey College of Engineering with a master's degree. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a personnel director for the State of New Jersey for over 30 years.
Mr. Strathern was a member of the Brigantine Elks. He loved to fish, golf, go to the beach and travel, especially going to Florida. David was also an animal lover.
David is predeceased by his parents, George and Ellen (McCarthy) Strathern; his wife, Constance A. (Phillips) Strathern; Daughter, Lenore Strathern; a sister, Kathleen (Strathern) Marcario, and two nephews. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley M. Strathern-Holmes and her husband Jason Holmes of Mt. Laurel, NJ; siblings, Ellen Rawls of Manchester, MO, George and his wife Joan Strathern, Ortley Beach, NJ; a grandson, Quinn Holmes; two nieces and three nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel. His committal will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's name to Debra Schaser Service Dogs (247 E. Forest Grove Rd. Vineland, NJ 08360).
