David Swearer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Elliott Mortuary & Crematory - Hutchinson on Aug. 8, 2024.
David Geiser Swearer, of Kansas City, MO, died August 5, 2024. David was born December 8, 1960, in Hutchinson, KS, and is the son of William and Marilyn Swearer.
David graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1979, the University of Kansas, and from the University of Denver with his master's degree in Court Administration. He was a long-time administrative assistant for Dollar, Burns, Becker & Hershewe.
David was a past president of the Kansas City Junior Chamber of Commerce, and enjoyed singing in a men's chorus at Village Presbyterian Church. He had an incredible memory for family events and dates, along with sports and current events. David liked being kept up-to-date with all the family members. He enjoyed watching and talking about sports at any level, but particularly the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and the KU Jayhawks.
David is survived by: his parents, Bill and Marilyn Swearer; sister, Anne Potucek (Scott); and brother, John Swearer (Sharon). David enjoyed the conversations that he had with his nieces and nephews: Nathan Henry, Andy Henry, Jackson Swearer, Sarah Ritter, Julia Reyes, Cameron Potucek, Rachel Potucek, Rebecca Potucek, and Brock Potucek.
Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the K.U. Endowment Association (for their general fund, in memory of David Swearer), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
David was brave and patient through all his illnesses. The family would like to thank Dollar, Burns, Becker & Hershewe and staff for all the kindness and care that they showed David through the years.
