David Lee Thomason

David Lee Thomason, 67, of Cherry Valley and formerly of Mississippi, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

David was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 24, 1958, to Jack and Betty Spillers Thomason. He owned a business in Mississippi, made friends easily, and was a devoted father, son, and brother. David was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member and past Master of Hernando Lodge #51, and belonged to the Shriners Hospital and York Rite. He was grateful not to have suffered much, and his family felt the Lord was merciful and good to him. David faced his illness with strength and faith, which inspired his friends and, above all, his family. He knew the Lord and is now reunited with his parents, Jack and Betty Thomason, and other loved ones who passed before him.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Moore and husband Tommy of Cherry Valley, former wife, Karen Lahmon of Cherry Valley, siblings, Dwight, Billy, Charlotte, Shirley, Jack, Betty, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home from 11 AM until 12 PM. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 12 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Akin Cemetery, Vanndale, Arkansas, with a Masonic graveside service.

David requested that memorials be made to Hernando Lodge #51, 809 Plymouth Dr Hernando, MS 38632-2503.
