David Calvin Tinkham, 69, of Milton, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 18, 2025, after experiencing a sudden heart attack
Born on March 11, 1956, in Beverly, Massachusetts, David was the son of Lawrence and Grace Tinkham. From a young age, he followed in the footsteps of his father and best friend, learning the family trade of coppersmithing. Together, they worked side by side, crafting and restoring copper weathervanes and lanterns-artful creations that earned David recognition across the country for his exceptional skill and dedication to his craft.
In August of 1988, David married the love of his life, Dawn Clough, and they settled in Milton, NH, where they built a life filled with family, friendship, and service. David had a passion for home improvement and gardening, and he was always happiest when working with his hands. He generously gave his time to the community, coaching Little League baseball, youth football, and basketball, becoming a beloved mentor to many young athletes.
A true Harley Davidson enthusiast, David took great joy in riding his motorcycle on sunny days, or simply mowing his lawn-a task he approached with the same pride he brought to everything he did. In 2010, David and his sister, Cheryl Call, made the decision to sell their family business, Golden Eagle Coppersmith, allowing David to enjoy a well-earned chapter of rest and freedom.
David firmly believed that if something was broken, you fixed it. Whether it was repairing lawn mowers or maintaining his vehicles, he always took matters into his own hands. This hands-on attitude was just one of the many values he passed down to his son, Cameron. In 2020, Cameron opened his own automotive repair shop, and David became a regular visitor. It even became a weekly tradition for them to share hotdogs every Friday
In February 2019, David welcomed a new and cherished role into his life: grandfather. He adored his granddaughter Emma, and spending time with her became one of his greatest joys.
David is survived by his loving wife; Dawn Clough; his son, Cameron Tinkham, and daughter-in-law, Jessica Tinkham; his granddaughter, Emma Tinkham; and his sister, Cheryl, and his brother-In-law, Howard Call." He will be remembered for his deep devotion to family, his craftsmanship, his giving spirit, and the quiet strength he brought to every part of his life.
Visitation will take place on Friday May 2, 2025 from 4-6 PM at Tasker FH, 621 Central Ave., Dover, NH. Interment will be private.
