David Dale Wells

David Dale "Budge" Wells, passed away quietly on the first day of February, leaving a noticeable tear in the caring fabric of the greater Knoxville community. He made the most of his sixty-six trips around the sun. Touching and shaping many lives as an executive with the Kroger Company, a noted fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and as a deacon of Ball Camp Baptist Church. The humility he projected throughout his sudden illness - always being gracious toward caregivers and grateful for caretakers - is a lasting testament to his Christian faith. As a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, he showed us how to live with love and how to die with dignity. Budge leaves behind his mother (Sue), wife (Anna), daughters (Amy [Frank] and Katie), stepchildren (Olivia [Wes] and Cruz), step-grandchildren (Levi, Stevie and JJ), nephews (Matthew, Bridges and Caleb), nieces (Emily and Sunny), sister (Terri), and three brothers (Kendall [Julie], Devin [Connie] and Kevin). He is preceded in death by his beloved father David G. Wells, caring aunt Pat Winkle, bonus sister Mandy Scott and close friend Mike Grantham. Special thanks to Chris and Cynthia Coffey, Doug Parker, Cheryl Wells, and fellow equestrian Darrell Brock. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 14 with receiving of friends from 2-4pm, followed by a service from 4-4:45pm at Ball Camp Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Fox presiding. Click Funeral Home is handling arrangements and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (www.Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF).org) or as your heart leads you, when a disaster occurs, give to relief efforts, as Budge did so generously.
