Dawn Marie Wanta, affectionately known to many as "Bubba," passed away on January 27, 2025, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Weston, Wisconsin. She was born on August 22, 1967, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Rose (Herek) Wanta.
A graduate of D.C. Everest Senior High School in 1985, her spirit was characterized by a lovely personality that endeared her to both friends and family.
Dawn's time working at Sally's Beauty in Rothschild allowed her to connect with people daily, showcasing her warm heart. Known as the neighborhood babysitter, she embraced the role with open arms, ensuring countless children had loving care and attention.
A dedicated sports fan, Dawn held a special love for her teams, enthusiastically cheering for the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks; especially for favorites Christian Yellich and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Her love for music also thrived, with an affinity for the classic sounds of Elvis Presley, and Gary Allen, filling her life with cherished melodies.
Dawn was adventurous at heart and craved new experiences. She fondly reminisced about her casino trips to Menomonie and Bowler, and took joy in traveling—especially to the iconic Graceland and vibrant Las Vegas. Although she didn't excel at fishing, she embraced the outdoors and savored each moment spent with family and friends along the way.
In her quieter moments, you could find Dawn delving into a good book or tackling word searches. Her love for shopping and eating out was well-known, and her infectious laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those lucky enough to have shared time with her.
Dawn leaves behind her mother, Rose Wanta; brothers, Brian (Julia) Wanta and Todd Wanta; niece Stephanie (Joshua) Wanta and nephew Raymond (Inga) Wanta. Along with many Aunts, Uncles , Cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Wanta.
