Clarence 'Kelly' Wanta, 87, of Bevent, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Pride TLC in Weston.
Kelly was born on January 3, 1938, the son of Peter and Bertha (Cherek) Wanta.
On August 15, 1962, Kelly was united in marriage to Adeline Wanta at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2018.
Kelly was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Elderon Memorial Post #8068, VFW.
Kelly worked as a machinist for J I Case in Wausau until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his property and the occasional trip to the casino. After retirement, Kelly and Adeline loved to travel, especially to Arizona and Florida. Kelly enjoyed time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Kelly is survived by his son, Bruce (Cindi) Wanta, of Mosinee; daughter-in-law, Tammy Wanta of Bevent; grandchildren, Kyle (fiancée Christina) Wanta, Kristen (Nathan) Mollan, Kaitlyn (Logan) Lopas and Tyler Wanta; great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Wanta and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Kelly was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Bryan; sisters, Pauline, Theresa, Frances, Maryann and Evelyn; brothers, Adam, Raymond and John.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent, with military rites conducted by the Elderon Memorial Post #8068, VFW following Mass. Rev. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM until the time of Mass at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus at Home for their compassion and care given to Kelly.
