Ms. Dawn Leener Johnson, 57, of Peoria, IL transitioned to her heavenly home at 1:33 am on Friday, September 20, 2024 at her residence after a long battle with a heart condition.
Dawn was born on May 1, 1967 in Peoria, IL to Esther Robinson and Samuel Johnson, Jr. Dawn cherished her five beautiful daughters born to her and Ronnie Marshall.
Dawn worked at the Salvation Army Store as a clerk. She loved corresponding with friends and family through letters. Dawn journaled all her activities from morning to night daily. She loved dancing and listening to music. Dawn received Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Star of Hope Full Gospel Church where she was baptized under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Johnson. Dawn loved her Pastor and Church.
Dawn leaves to cherish her precious memory five beautiful daughters, Tierre (Alfred Hill) Johnson of Cypress, TX, Vionca Johnson of Peoria, IL, Ronisha (Walter) Burns of Joliet, IL, Rockea Johnson of St. Paul, MN and Alicia (Kevin) Johnson of Canton, IL; two brothers, Glen Robinson of Bloomington, IL and Demetruis Dondell of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Annette Lucy and Sharon Johnson both of Peoria, IL and Juanita Andrews of Villa Rica, GA; 22 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Michael Robinson; maternal grandparents, Jessie and Othelia Ocain-Robinson and paternal grandparents, Samuel, Sr. and "Momma Ruth" Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Star of Hope Full Gospel Church with a gathering at 1 pm. Bishop Joseph Johnson will officiate.
