Dawn Michaud

MASARDIS: Dawn Junkins Michaud, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle, Maine, at the age of 76.
Born in Presque Isle on July 28, 1949, to Vernon and Dorothy (Gardiner) Junkins, Dawn was raised with a strong sense of family, community, and service. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1967 after which she attended Northern Maine Technical College where she obtained her LPN and began working at the Presque Isle nursing home while continuing her education and earning degrees in both Nursing and Behavioral Science from the University of Maine at Presque Isle - all while raising three children and working full-time, a testament to her incredible work ethic and determination.
Dawn was a woman of strength, compassion, and deep faith. She lived in Masardis, Maine, where she was known for her kindness, generosity, and infectious laughter. She had a lifelong love of music, travel, and most of all, children - especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Caribou, where she served faithfully and found joy in her church callings, especially with the young women. Whether visiting new places, spending time with family, or simply sharing a smile and a story, Dawn lived her life with purpose and love, she always strived to follow Christ's example in her kindness, humility, and unwavering faith.
She is predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Dorothy Junkins, and her sister, Patricia Junkins. All of whom, are undoubtedly rejoicing with her today.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Peter B. Michaud; her daughters Kelly Michaud and Kimberly Wilson (Marty), their children Austin, Caroline, and Jacob; and her son Peter D. Michaud (Dana), and their daughter Kayla. She also leaves behind three cherished great granddaughters - Raelynn, Alaia, and Charlie - along with many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends.
Dawn's legacy of love, faith, humor, and resilience will live on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 67 Paris Snow Drive, Caribou, Maine. A reception will follow at the same location.
