Dawnn Cynthia Suchocki, age 68, passed away on May 18, 2024. She was born on November 21, 1955, in Laconia, New Hampshire to Warren Spears and Louise Conrad Spears.
Dawnn was a 1973 graduate of Laconia High School and went on to work at New England Bell, which later became Verizon. In 1984, Dawnn met her future husband, Donald (Bud) Suchocki, at a Ma Bell conference in Chicago. She moved to Michigan in 1985 and they married on July 10, 1987, at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, and made their home in Bloomfield Hills, where they began raising a family.
Dawnn was known for her custom greeting cards, which she personalized with her "Dawnn's Designs" stamp. Her cards are cherished by family and friends, and she often donated cards to various charities. Additionally, she enjoyed baking for family and friends, and professionally decorated them. Dawnn also took the title of seamstress, handcrafting halloween costumes and clothes for her children.
Dawnn is survived by her beloved husband, Donald "Bud" Suchocki; her loving children, Christopher (Arlene) Noyes, Jennifer Suchocki, and Elizabeth Suchocki (Daniel Ciesielski); and her cherished grandchildren, Warren Christopher Noyes and Jonathan Guil Noyes. She was the dear sister of Scott (Gail) Spears, Rhonda (Ed) Taylor, Juanita Stryker, Cliff Spears, and the late Wayne Spears. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Spears.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 pm with a scripture service at 6 pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, with in-state visitation starting at 10:30 am until the time of Mass at 11 am at St. Hugo of the Hills-Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills.
Dawnn's family would appreciate memorials to the Cure IBM Research Fund via Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. https://wustl.advancementform.com/campaign/medicine/give?other_designation_description=Cure%20IBM%20Research%20Fund&sc=NG
Dawnn was an Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) warrior for over a decade and advocated for research to be done and a cure to be found. At this time, there is no cure for IBM. We are hoping with more research and knowledge of the disease, that a cure will be found.
