Dr. Dean Richard Argo, 65, of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away on January 17, 2025 after battling cancer for over eight years. He was born on July 20, 1959, in Youngstown, Ohio to George and Ellen Argo of Crown Point, Indiana. Dean was a devoted husband to Kara Mayden Argo, formerly from Crown Point, Indiana for nearly 38 years. Dean was a proud father of his children, Dr. Taylor Argo (Andrew Pola) and Ben Argo (Kylee Hershberger).
Dean graduated from Crown Point High School in 1977. He was a drummer in the marching band and on the swim team. He attended Indiana University for his undergraduate studies in chemistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University, in Chicago. He had a 30-year career as a general dentist in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area, before semi-retiring to Nashville, Tennessee in 2016.
Dean enjoyed cooking, especially replicating Gino's deep-dish pizza. He was an avid collector of cacti, a skilled candle maker and he enjoyed college sports, especially Michigan State football and Indiana University basketball. His favorite places included Glacier National Park and the Canadian Rockies where he spent time backpacking in his younger years. His children have followed in his footsteps becoming avid hikers. He loved his golden retriever, Cooper and our other family dogs, Murphy and Luna. Cooper passed away just a week before him. It gives us comfort that they left this world together.
He is survived by many family members and friends, and his memory will continue in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A virtual Celebration of Life will be held in Dean's honor on February 9, 2025, at 1:00PM. To attend, click here.
The family kindly welcomes flowers and gifts in memory of Dean. They may be sent directly to the family home.
