Deanna Y. Laine
age 81 of Chisholm passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation in Hibbing. She was born May 23, 1944 in Chisholm, MN to Harold and Ida (Quenette) Ball. Deanna attended Chisholm High School graduating with the class of 1962. Deanna was a homemaker for many years raising her children and keeping up the house, later she went on to work at Griener Brothers Cleaning Service and ServiceMaster. Deanna also worked at a t-shirt factory pressing jeans and shirts. She was joined in marriage to Glen Laine in Las Vegas, NV on December 7, 1986. Deanna enjoyed playing Bocce Ball on the local league, tending to her yard, being outdoors and walking around Longyear Lake in Chisholm. She is survived by her children, Wanda (Michael Ammerman) Appelman, Ron (Kristi) Appelman, sister, Janice Vogelgegang, grandchildren, Skylar (Alyssa Fena) Appelman, Rylee Appelman, great-grandchild, Elena Moberg. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glen Laine on October 12, 1992 and brother, Jim Ball. A celebration of life will be held from 3-5 pm, Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home in Chisholm and continuing at Tom & Jerrys afterwards. Interment will be at the Chisholm Cemetery at a later date.
