Deanne Duhon Obituary

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the Matthews Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The Visitation will continue Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of her service at 11:00 AM.
A Rosary will be recited on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Matthews Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA.
Reverend Jay Alexius of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church will be officiating the services.
Interment will follow in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA.
Deanne was born in Lakeside, La on January 9, 1942, to Fred Lounsberry of Morse, LA and Irene E. LeDoux of Basile, LA. She worked as a secretary in the medical field in her younger years, later becoming a homemaker. She was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Altar Society, the Jefferson Davis Tourism Board, a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, LA, and she was the President of RC&D. Deanne was a beloved mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Deanne is survived by her daughter, Angela Duhon-Landry (Shane Landry); her grandchildren, Heather Duhon (Scott Pierce) of Knoxville, TN, Allison Weckerly (Drew Hosseini) of Houston, TX, David Weckerly (Noor Deeb) of Lake Charles, Shay Smith (Brandon Guillory) of Lake Arthur, Jacob, Cameron and Adrian Richard all of Lake Arthur; and her 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred (Sonny) Lounsberry.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ellsworth Duhon; her parents, Fred Lounsberry and Irene E. LeDoux; her two daughters, Allison Duhon and April Duhon; as well as her brother, Elroy Lounsberry.

To Angel and Family,
Richard and I are so saddened to hear about Deanne. We would like to extend our condolences for your great loss. We had so many good times with Deanne and Wordy throughout the years with our Mardi Gras Krewe. I hate that our lives change so much as we get older and we loose track of our good friends. I am going to call the church and have masses said for her and Wordy. We want be able to make any of the services but our hearts will be with you at this time.
